Blackjack should be easy to play and win. There are important things to bear in mind, some things to avoid, and some things to really do for a sure win in blackjack.

Remember that high hands or cards often work on the side of the blackjack player. They give more chances for naturals (two-card wins) and more likelihood for a dealer to get busts. He's got no chance to decide when to make a hit. As far as it is within allowable limits, bet a lot when there are high cards in hand and bet as low as one can when low cards are in hand. So high cards, bet high. Low cards, bet low. When this strategy is possible, it can be a good turning point for winnings in blackjack.

Here's a little trick to make the dealer bust lots. Ever heard of the hi-lo system---the most feared by blackjack dealers in casinos? It's a card counting technique that groups cards and gives them designations. Like, numbers from 2 to 6 are called positive one, and 10 to ace cards are negative one. The rest are treated neutral. So, when it's a high hand and falls into the positive category it's more likely a blackjack win. The proportion of high to low cards, in this case, is working for the player, not the dealer. We want to beat the dealer, that's the goal, and when it's a high card count the poor dealer has more likelihood of going overboard or busting. The dealer's only chance is to hit till the cards sum up to 17 or hit till everybody gets a bust.

High card counting at the onset into the blackjack shoe is not the same as a high card counting at the concluding part into the shoe. The concluding phase into the shoe is often more rewarding. This is because some casinos employ a blackjack shoe using 6-card decks. Go big on the bet when the card counting is up and there are few remaining cards in the shoe.

Be sure to practice sharpening the eyes for quick but accurate hi-lo card counting skills. It may seem easy enough at the start but don't let that fool anyone. If there's only the dealer and one player playing blackjack, all may smoothly flow. But with, say, 9 eager-to-win and really fast hands on the table? Slim chance if one has not practiced this technique well.
